I'm a beginner to HK cinema, but after seeing the list I started to wonder what happened to 'Farewell China'? I've seen it recently, and think it's a pretty good one, definitely worth appearing on Top 100 (not mentioning Top 259) list. Am I the only person liking it, or did it just get forgotten? Or perhaps it's classified as 80's movie?

Don't Give a Damn is on DVD.

http://www.amazon.com/Burger-Cop-Dont-Give-Damn/dp/B0002ZYE14/

I haven't seen it, mostly because I've never actually seen the DVD in the wild, and I can't rent it from Netflix in any other way then part of some sketchy looking 'martial arts collection of butchered presentation'.

But its out there for anybody brave enough to take a look.

How could I forget Beyond Hypothermia? I ripped it off for my blog name, fer cryin' out loud. A great movie that I wish I could see again--Wu Chien-Lien as a robotic hitwoman and Lau Ching-Wan as her sensitive noodle-making suitor. Absolutely brilliant and showed that the Milkyway aesthetic was pretty well-formed even at the beginning.

@WillJayRod, SLEEPLESS TOWN would've counted, but perhaps nobody realized it. It even counted for the Hong Kong Film Awards, if I recall correctly.

@AlHaru, IN BETWEEN is one of those films lost to time. Whereas Ann Hui has the pull to get STARRY IS THE NIGHT released on DVD, neither Sylvia Chang or Samson Chiu have the cachet to get their films looked at again. Maybe Yonfan can liberate it and push a Far Sun DVD release?

Pleased to see most of the movies I remembered (but did not vote for) get nods from other folks. Specifically Moonlight Express, Bio-Zombie, and City Hunter.

I wonder where Sleepless Town would've figured, if it had been allowed to be voted for.

Thought I'd note here that there were 1345 movies released through the nineties. Voting for twenty was way hard, and seeing only 259 even make it to the list is a little sad.

The fruit is sweeling, yeah...I have a friend that loved the movie so much. He said the story is one of the best in Category III movie.

Bio zombie, this one is unique and classic. Loved it.

The conman only has 2 voted? I remembered it was popular back then in 1999. It created so many sequels with Nick Cheung star on it.

I just realized after all the discussion over Lee Rock as one or two movies, they didn't even break the Top 100. I just got the set from HK to Taiwan a few weeks ago and sat through it in one screening. Not sure if I would add it to my Top 20 list, but impressive in some ways and WAY TOO LONG in others.

I loved seeing things like Mermaid got Married and The Masked Prosecutor survive on the list with only my votes (both movies highly recommended by friends who didn't vote). I would have added the movie Dragon Inn to my Top 20 if I had seen it earler. I watched it and Green Snake a few weekends ago, and even though a little Cheesy, I really liked it... even Donnie turning a little Skeletor at the end!!!

Great list Kozo... so much more to watch than I even realized!!!

Nice to see a bit of love given to No. 228 - INTRUDER. A fine little flick from the Johnny To/Wai Ka Fai stable featuring a typically luminous Wu Chien Lien as a psychotic killer.

A very nice DVD version is available on German double-feature disc with RUN AND KILL.

Funny how I actually forgot about Kawashima Yoshiko. That alone should have given Derek Yee the taste of another Top100 film...as an actor.

And who else besides me voted In Between remains a question.

From 101 to 259, I think most of us will have a lot to catch up. That should take another 5 years to finish.
