Thanx for the list Kozo Im sure it took a lot of effort to put it together and its appreciated.

Although the ranking of films is always very variable depending on taste these things are a great source of recommendations to film fans. Ive used many lovehkfilm features like this over the years to check our titles I wouldve otherwise never seen.

Thanx again and heres hoping for more worthwhile projects in the future!

Hi Richard, I did see NIGHTFALL and the review is on the site. Sadly, I was not that impressed. Story is quite good, but the execution leaves much to be desired. All IMHO, of course.

Did like PUNISHED and think that it also has a great story and lesser execution.

The best of every year table is very representative! Gives a nice overview.

Kozo, its kind of off-topic here, but still: you have to watch Nightfall and review it soon. It's by far the best I have seen to come out from HK in recent years - far stronger than Punished (2011) even. After 1 week I am still so enthusiastic about it. Was totally positively surprised!!

Interested what you think of it. I am sure it will turn up in many future best of lists. ;)

Hi Garvin, I thought about doing that but I probably won't. The whole point of the Reader Vote is to make it community thing, so my personal list seems needless. Also, there are a TON of eighties films I haven't seen (My Shaw Brothers intake has been woefully inadequate) so my list could be potentially embarrassing.

My #1 movie was PEKING OPERA BLUES though, and I'm happy to see it rank where it did.

very interesting year-by-year list, really gives a nice overview of the different "golden eras", e.g:
80-81 Sammo
83-85 Jackie
89-90 John Woo

The Year-by-year list of Top Ranked films in LoveHKFilm Reader Votes would be a good starting point for a HK film 101 course. Start there and then get some ideas of what to try next (but make one of them Love in a Fallen City!).
Ah God of Cookery!

Full of mysteries! I voted under the name of A. stupidly. You know that guy who voted for all the obvious films? That was me!
