I’ll stay out of the remake - Nic Cage used to be really good (Wild At Heart, Raising Arizona, Leaving Las Vegas) but now he is so bad that I’m amazed when compared the performances. Also he made some bad choices, The Wickerman (Neil LaBute is great but didn’t Cage he read the script?), Ghost Rider (the trailer was enough to put me off) and now this.

Viewers tend to recognise the details that they relate in real life. Pantyline is not good and a lot of us suffered from bad hair days so there is nothing unusual about women noticing them - and this sure doesn’t take away anything from our overall viewing experience on any level :)

The whole relationship aspect was the most distracting part of the film to me as well (except for the big bloody reveal before the third act). It puzzled me why this deaf-mute girl would go up and play charade with the Nicolas Cage character when her co-worker not only know to speak and hear, but also speaks English!

I fell asleep several times and just stopped caring. Ironically, the best part of the film was the opening, which didn't even take place in Bangkok.

Rain Dog (I'd forgotten about him!) didn't review "Bangkok Dangerous." It was me! :)

Anyway, sounds like I was right to avoid the remake. The thing was the #1 movie at the box office, but in reality, it didn't even break 8 million dollars for the weekend!

Your visible panty line story reminds me of the time I was watching the news with my Mom. I don't remember what the story was about but it was about something grim. In the middle of the gory details, my Mom blurts out that the anchor lady has terrible hair.
