I liked it, too. For me, it was probably the funniest Star Trek film since Part IV. There were plot holes aplenty, and too many coincidences to mention, but somehow, I didn't really care. It was fun.

Truth be told, I was really charmed by the film, particularly the performances -- Chris Pine (a big surprise), Karl Urban (He makes a GREAT McCoy), and Simon Pegg especially. Quinto plays Spock very differently than Nimoy, which was, I suppose, simply reflective of his arc in the film (hopefully, he'll settle into a more Zen-like Leonard Nimoy performance, rather than the "I'm using logic to control my pent-up rage" style present in this film). I'm very interested to see where they take things from here.

I also thought Eric Bana's line readings were too contemporary. He doesn't have to sound Shakespearean or anything, but he sounded like he came from a different movie. It was still kind of amusing though.

I liked it a lot, not as much as Iron Man. Iron Man managed to be funny, a bit serious in parts, and exciting without overreaching.

I went in expecting to hate Chris Pine but he was actually very good. Cho, Pegg, and Quinto all perfect in my book.

I saw the same G.I. Joe preview and thought that it looked SO ridiculous that I have to see it; underwater, kung fu, soldiers, ninjas, explosions, hot leather babes, and so on. Like a film made by a 7-year-old for a 20-year-old.

Two previews I saw both had scenes of Paris being destroyed (Transformers and Joe); we have CGI and no more ideas?
