Never thought I'd see the day when my faith in Chen Kaige's directing ability would be higher than Tsui Hark's. As for AAW, I'm already being very kind to it. One of the people I watched it with wanted to walk out half way. If you can accept its hyperactiveness, it has a really fun first half. But the storytelling throughout is messy, and it goes on way toooooo long. At least it's better than Missing. Even a random smile looks beautiful for Brigette Lin, what a woman.
