Director: Frankie Chan Fan-Kei

The Skinny: Uninspiring film about an inspirational teacher. That usually means it isn't a very good movie.
Review
by Kozo:
Frankie Chan directs himself as a teacher at Jubilee High School, who wishes to make the world a better place. Or something to that effect. Also starring Kristy Yeung as the "babe" teacher and Mark Lui as a motorcycle-riding music teacher. Eric Tsang has a cameo as one of the kids' father. This is a well meaning high-school flick with some good dance choreography as well as a couple of fresh new faces. Still, the script and direction are rather sophomoric, with exposition pretending to be epiphany. Plus, the music is inappropriate at times. This is one of those movies where there’s far too much personal realization and kids are far more thoughtful than they ever would be in real life. Stock characters like Monica Chan’s evil teacher add to the poor quality of the film. If you must watch one of these "kids are inspired by unconventional teacher" stories then go watch Great Teacher Onizuka. (Kozo 2000)
