Another Chinese Cop
Year: 1996
Director: Lam Yi-Law
Action: Bruce Law Lai-Yin
Cast: Anthony Wong Chau-Sang, Tsui Kam-Kong, Diana Pang Dan, Billy Chow Bei-Lei, Si Yi-Lin, Law Kar-Ying, Yuen King-Tan, Gabriel “Turtle” Wong Yat-San
The Skinny: The most this film could accomplish is to become landfill for a New Territories housing development. I vote that such a move be made possible.
Review
by Kozo:
Disposable and ultra-cheap flick that one could hold responsible for Hong Kong Cinema's ultimate fall from grace. Anthony Wong and Tsui Kam-Kong star as a couple of wacky mainland cops who find themselves tracking a kidnapper. Eventually, Tsui suspects the evildoer may be old martial arts buddy Billy Chow. Pang Dan co-stars as Chow's wife.
Another Chinese Cop feels like it was shot without a script or even a minor attempt at planning. It's just a mishmash of pointless dialogue and uninteresting scenes which really serve no purpose. The highlight for some may be Pang Dan, who does a truly obnoxious dance in a teddy that's more disturbing than sexy. It's great that Anthony Wong was able to earn some money from this, but if he does this too often I may be forced to seek a refund from his personal bank account. Avoid this film or suffer the consequences. (Kozo 1998)
