The Golden Rock Song of the Day - 9/6/2007

Since I mentioned Ketsumeishi’s latest album, how can I go without choosing one of its songs? And how can I choose a Ketsumeishi song without choosing one about summer? It’s still hot enough, and the single actually came out a year ago. From Ketsu No Police 5, it’s Ketsumeishi’s “6 Men and Women’s Summer Memories.”

Actually, the MTV is quite good, although I’m convinced it’s part of something much longer.

The Golden Rock Song of the Day - 9/4/2007

Today’s Song of the Day is one of the summer male pop songs that’s been stuck in my head. Just for the fact it doesn’t sound like the other Cantopop out there (Miriam/Leon Lai, I’m looking at you…). From the new song/compilation album So Far So…Close, it’s Eric Suen’s “Before Thoughts, After Love.”

The Golden Rock The Song of the Day - 9/3/2007

Today’s Song of the Day is the thid song from the same album, and is part of the music picks of the week post coming soon on The Golden Gate Meets The Lion Rock. From Khalil Fong’s album This Love, it’s title song This Love (or Love Love Love).

Today’s song of the day comes from Kreva, whose latest single was mentioned in the news post. He was considered “the talented one” in the pop-rap group Kick The Can Crew, but has moved on to doing solo (apparently everyone is too busy to reunite). This is one of his better singles. From the album Ai Jibunhaku, it’s “Start“.

I have to admit that today’s Song of the Day is kind of a random choice, but nevertheless it’s a good choice. I first heard it around the time I went to the Love Psychedelico concert (because the song was for the compilation released to promote the concert), and it was one of the songs they sang at the end. Originally from the now out-of-print compilation Early Times, it’s Love Psychedelico’s “Fantastic World“.

Ah-ha, I haven’t used a Suede song since two months ago, so it’s just about time to use one again. From the album Head Music, it’s one of my favorite Suede songs - “Everything Will Flow.”
